How I work, then the evidence.

I start by understanding what’s happening and agreeing on the problem. Then we research, design and test possible responses. Implementation or handoff can follow as a separate stage, with a stopping point after each.

01

Learn the system

Understand the people, constraints, existing logic and intended outcome.

02

Find the friction

Look for the gap between what should happen and what actually happens.

03

Test a way forward

Change the conditions, structure or intervention and see what reality says.

04

Leave a clear next step

The outcome might be a working change, a handoff, or a clearer next step.

Featured cases

Three fuller examples.

These are the strongest current examples of the work from different domains. Each card gives the short version before the deeper case.

Frog Goose project

Education system · business · handoff

Frog Goose

Problem
I wanted to build a more deliberate, foundations-first way to teach bachata, with progression that could hold together across classes and levels.

What I did: I built and taught the curriculum, then adjusted the progression based on what learners understood and where they got stuck. I also developed teachers and handed the system over.

Result
The school ran paid classes and workshops, developed additional teaching capacity, and I completed the operational handoff before leaving in September 2026.

Breaking Game

Problem
A simple Unity village suggested a bigger idea: make the environment destructible, then work out what kind of game should exist around that mechanic.

What I did: I tested builds, used player friction to shape the next design, and worked with a developer and artist on loops, levels, progression, tutorials and repeated re-scoping.

Result
The team built a substantial prototype and design archive. The project did not ship.

Dog behaviour project

Behaviour · service · observation

Dog Behaviour Specialist

Problem
Reactive, fearful and sensitive dogs often did poorly in standard group-walking routines or generic training conditions.

What I did: I observed triggers, thresholds and recovery, adjusted routes, distance, stimulation and reinforcement, then repeated the work at a pace each dog could handle.

Result
The service developed recurring paid work and referrals. In the six-month Roquefort case, the owners reported substantial improvement before I arranged continuity when the service ended.

MoodMinder reconstructed interface

Digital product

MoodMinder

Turned a need for quick mood check-ins into a live app, iterating from a journal toward categories and trend views while learning the technical stack.

Independent dance coaching

Teaching · learner diagnosis

Independent Dance Coaching

Observed where each learner got stuck, then adapted drills and feedback to the specific timing, tension, comfort or coordination issue.

Twitch / Nomad1sh project

Creator system · games

Twitch / Nomad1sh

Learned the platform by running it: tested schedules, games and formats, built production and interaction systems, and developed a live format for indie developers across 251 days and roughly 1,045 hours.
